Content Development for
Spherical Digital Signage System

Navitar's HemiStar projection lenses are ideal for numerous applications, including spherical-shaped digital signage for entertainment and advertising purposes. This application requires custom or modified content created specifically for your projection environment and image size.

Navitar does not currently offer content development services, but below you will find a list of software programs in which content can be created, as well as a PDF of content Navitar developed for a recent tradeshow.

Content Options

Globe content can be either static or animated. For static images, a high-resolution PDF or an image file such as a JPG, PNG, or TIF can be projected with good results. For animated graphics, a number of software options are available. Navitar does not endorse or guarantee any of these products; this list is for reference and educational purposes only.

Software Options

A number of powerful software options are available for animated content development. For best results, project the content in full-screen mode and loop the playback for continuous play. Disable any screensavers on the computer so as not to interrupt the video.

Adobe^® Flash Professional
Flash is an authoring environment for producing interactive content for a number of platforms, and supports illustrated, photographic, and video files. Export a standalone SWF file and play it in a SWF-compatible player in full-screen mode to project content into spherical digital signage applications.

Adobe^® Premier Pro
Premier Pro is a powerful video editing program that integrates with other Adobe programs. Video output options are numerous and include animated GIF, Flash Video (FLV), QuickTime movie (MOV), and Windows Media (WMV), all of which are self-contained and can be played with various media players.

Adobe^® After Effects
After Effects is used to develop motion graphics and cinematic visual effects. Export options include numerous formats; as with Flash, a SWF file can be exported from After Effects and is a self-contained animation file.

Apple^® Final Cut Pro
Final Cut Pro is a video editing program also capable of creating complex motion graphics. Video output options include QuickTime movie (MOV).

Apple^® iMovie
iMovie is included in Apple's iLife suite of programs, and is a video-editing program used primarily for home movies. Output file formats include QuickTime movie (MOV).
