times and to increasing the over all level of responsiveness to
the customer.
GM
Vacuum Coating is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Dan
Coursen as VP of Engineering. Mr. Coursen has been with the company
since 1973 and considered an industry expert in the field of specialized
thin film coatings and often is called to consult on optical questions.
With the addition of increased engineering support staff, Mr.
Coursen has recently devoted more attention to the development
of large systems for the UV coating industry in order to decrease
typical curing times on existing equipment. He is the recent co-author
of the Optical Thin Film Reference Guide which is being offered
to end users in the industry.
Since
GM Vacuum was acquired by Navitar in 1998, there has been a strong
emphasis on growing the company through the development of new
products and the addition of new business. At GM Vacuum, our engineering
and technical staff specializes in helping our customers to improve
the optical performance of their existing products through the
addition of optical thin film coatings. For example, in the UV
industry, we can often improve the brightness of existing UV light
sources by up to 33%. Our newest dichroic art glass coatings are
being used for the creation of unusual products ranging from decorative
residential sinks to glass bricks walls.
Our
decision to expand and become a key resource for industrial, commercial
and military components is an ambitious departure from the actions
of the previous ownership of GM Vacuum Coating. Working together
with the other companies in the Navitar group will allow us to
all achieve an exciting future together. |
