This
coating is a low thermal emission systems. The coating is made of
thin gold applied to a relatively non-magnetic base layer of chrome,
stabilized chrome/nickel alloy, or a proprietary oxide. The coating
has low thermal conductivity, making it an effective choice for
cryogenic cabling and heat pipes. The LE-1 coating is usually used
to control thermal losses in devices operating at 4 to 10 degrees
Kelvin.

Specifications
Each
layer is less than 0.1 microns thick. Typical computed hemispherical
emissivity is less than 3% for cold sources (Far IR).
LE-1 systems
can be applied to metals, glass, ceramics, plastics and epoxy
resins.
